Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you only work with a few companies a year?
Over the years I have found that I can deliver more value when I focus intensely on a few good companies.
How do you select the companies with whom you work?
I decide based on very subjective criteria that includes whether or not I like the people, the industry in which the client operates and their reputation in the community. Above all, I evaluate whether or not I can deliver real, measurable value.
Why isn’t your web site fancier?
My clients don’t care about pretty pictures. They want to make more money and see more opportunity.
Do you work on projects?
Sometimes I do projects for clients if it makes sense to do so. For example, I’ve been known to tackle web sites, video productions and copy writing. But most of the time, I work with a variety of highly qualified contractors to match the right client with the right skill sets.
Who the heck do you think you are?
I am what I am and that’s all that I am.
What are your qualifications?
I have a B.F.A. in Design and a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin. That, and a dollar fifty will get you a cup of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts. Over my 50 years on this earth, I’ve worked in the oil fields, performed music professionally, taught college, trekked through the jungle, written for major magazines, done fashion photography, built companies and done all manner of entrepreneurial activities. Mostly I’ve learned from my clients, most of whom were incredibly smart people.
Does your dog bite?
That is not my dog.
